How to attract butterflies:
A sunny area is needed, even 1/2 day will do.
Provide a source of mud or muddy water.
Grow plants that will provide food for all life stages. 
Do not use pesticides in the garden

Remember the most important thing:

YOU CANNOT HAVE BUTTERFLIES 
UNLESS THERE ARE CATERPILLARS!
